Boost Your Bowling Game to Impress Your Friends
Zone 28 offers plenty of entertainment options. From the Game Zone arcade, to Laser Quest, to our Escape Zone, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. And we also offer one of the most time-honored sources of entertainment around. Bowling with friends or family is a great way to enjoy each other’s company, but it’s even better when you can show off your sweet skills. So while you may not be headed for the pros any time soon, here are few tips to keep in mind the next time you hit the lanes.
Choosing the Right Bowling Ball
Unless you’re planning to use your own ball, in which case you probably don’t need these tips, you’re likely to use one of our bowling balls. With so many weights, colors and finger hole sizes, how do you choose the right one?
A good trick is to find a ball that is 10% of your total weight. For instance, if you weigh 150 lbs, try to find a 15-pound ball. Furthermore, you want to make sure your hand feels comfortable in the finger holes. You should find finger holes that allow the ball to release from your hand smoothly. It’s also important to make sure your hand isn’t stretched too flat. There should be some space between your palms and the surface of the ball.
In terms of color, go with whichever one you like best!
Throw Like a Pro
Adjusting your stance, the way you approach the lane and how you release the ball, could all lead to a better score. It’s also a great way to look cool in front of your friends and family. Start by keeping your wrist straight and your hand pointed toward the pins. A straight wrist will not only make sure your ball rolls right down the lane, but is much more comfortable for you.
As you continue your bowling swing, start to rotate your hand and fingers inward. If you’re right-handed, that means rotating toward the left. This applies spin to the ball and keeps it on an accurate path. Finally, try to release your ball as it passes by your ankle. This will help make sure your ball hits the lane where it’s supposed to.
