Birthday Party Themes for Kids | Zone 28

Whether they’re celebrating a milestone like turning the big 1-0 or any other age, a child’s birthday is a tremendous opportunity for fun and creativity. Birthday boys and girls often have a wide range of interests, too, so there are endless choices in determining a party theme. Get some inspiration from these five birthday party themes for kids.

Favorite Characters

Most of us probably think of popular characters when it comes to birthday party themes for youngsters. It’s easy to see why, given that supplies–from invitations and decorations to plates and cups–are widely sold in stores. When determining a party theme, a nice starting place is to talk to your child about favorite characters movies and TV shows. Whether their favorite character wields a wand or has big mouse ears, accessories and party games will be easy to find.

Hobbies

He swings and misses! Sports and other hobbies are solid party theme options, because aside from decorations, you could also inject some activities into the day. If your child likes baseball, part of the day might be spent playing tee-ball with friends. Or, if they like to paint, an arts and crafts session might be in order. Pair these activities with all of the party trimmings and a larger celebrations and that party i sure to be a winner.

Favorite Animals

Still, some children are animal lovers from a young age. Why not inject this into your party theme? Match the decorations to your child’s favorite animals, bake up some cut-out sugar cookies and you’re already halfway there. One way to add to the excitement is to have each guest dress like a favorite animal, either in full costume or by having a brief craft session to create a fun accessory.

PJs All Day

Less about the look of the party setting, a PJ party is simply a fun time for the kiddies. Whether an actual sleepover is in the cards or not (Go for it...slumber parties will never go out of style), party guests will have a good time just getting creative with their outfits. Take it up a notch by taking the kids out for the day at Zone 28 to run around in their PJs, and it’ll be an experience like no other.

Sweet Treats

Have a budding little baker in the family? Just want to treat your child and their friends? Why not center the party around a dessert theme? Style your decorations with ice cream cone, cupcake and doughnut themes and let party guests decorate cookies or build a yummy sundae! For a more in-depth craft idea, let the kids decorate their own gumdrop trees.
