Zone 28 hosts school field trips for 15 to 600 students in a 50,000 sq ft indoor complex 15 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh and 2 minutes from the PA Turnpike. Groups get bowling, laser tag and arcade play with lunch included, from $20 per student. Everything is under one roof and indoors, so the trip runs the same in any weather.

Why teachers book it
It is entirely indoors. No weather cancellation, no wet-weather plan, no phone tree the night before. That is the single most common reason a trip gets rebooked here.
One building, one supervision problem. Bowling, laser tag, the arcade and lunch all happen in the same place. Students are not moved between venues and there is no second bus leg.
Our staff runs it. Setup, lunch service and cleanup are ours. Teachers supervise; they do not host.
Adults aren't an extra line on the budget. One adult per 25 students, and every accompanying adult plays free — teachers included. A 50-student trip brings two adults at no cost. Lunch for them is $7 if they want it.
We invoice the district, and returning schools pay no deposit. Purchase orders are fine and nothing goes on a teacher's personal card. A first booking takes 50% up front; after that there is no deposit at all.
The paperwork won't slow you down. Need a certificate of insurance for the district? Ask and it is usually with you the same day.
Book spring before spring. Our spring calendar is normally full by March. If you want a specific date in May or June, six months ahead is right; if you can be flexible, four weeks will usually do it.
Every student can take part — including laser tag. Ramps join the building's two levels, a bowling ramp at the lane means a student who cannot lift a ball still bowls their own frames, and our laser tag arena is wheelchair accessible, which most arenas are not. No student sits out and watches.

What a field trip day looks like
Buses arrive and the group is met at the door. Students split into rotations across bowling, laser tag and the arcade so no one waits in a queue. Lunch is served in a reserved space at a set time you pick in advance. Our events team runs the clock, so teachers know exactly when the group is loading back on the bus.

Entirely. The whole complex is 50,000 sq ft under one roof, so a field trip here runs the same in rain, heat or snow — which is why a lot of schools use us as their weather-proof option.
In our front lot, which holds ten or more buses, and students are dropped right at the main entrance. There is no street parking to arrange, no overflow lot and no walk from the bus to the door.
One adult per 25 students. Every accompanying adult does the activities free — teachers included, with no per-adult charge for bowling, laser tag or the arcade. If an adult wants lunch it is $7 for pizza and unlimited pop, or they can order from the Rail House menu instead.
Yes to both — we take purchase orders and invoice the district directly, so nothing has to go on a personal card. A first booking with a new district takes a 50% deposit, which is non-refundable. Once you have been here before, there is no deposit at all — we simply invoice.
Yes. Ask your event coordinator and we will send a certificate of insurance, usually the same day — so a district insurance requirement does not hold up your approval paperwork.
Yes. Food comes from our own kitchen rather than an outside caterer, so tell your event coordinator what you need when you book.

We have bowling ramps at the lanes so a student who cannot lift a ball can still bowl their own frames with the group, our laser tag arena is wheelchair accessible — a student in a chair plays the game with their class rather than watching it — and the restrooms are wheelchair accessible too. Tell your coordinator what your group needs when you book and we will have it set up before you arrive.

Yes. Field trips run Monday to Friday until 4 pm, and the activity block is two hours plus lunch. Your coordinator sets the schedule around your bus times so the group leaves when you need it to.
Yes — day camps and summer programs book the same package, and many run a standing weekly booking through the summer.
A final headcount is due three business days before the trip, and that number is the minimum you are billed for. If more students come on the day, we simply add them.
