Zone 28 hosts company offsites in Pittsburgh where the meeting and the activity happen in one building: five meeting rooms that each seat 30 with a 55-inch screen, Suite 28's private space for up to 200 guests, and bowling, laser tag, escape rooms and catering a few steps away. Activity packages start at $22 per person, 15 minutes from downtown.
How an offsite actually runs here

Why not a hotel meeting room
The activity is already here. A hotel gives you a room and a lunch; the entertainment, the AV and the second venue are yours to arrange, and the group has to get into cars between them. Here it is one building, one bill and one coordinator.
Nobody sits through the afternoon. Bowling, laser tag, an escape room and 88+ arcade games mean the quiet people have something to do and the competitive people have somewhere to put it. A conference room after lunch does not.
It is entirely indoors and air-conditioned. No weather plan, no tent, no backup venue — in January that is the difference between an offsite and a rescheduling exercise.

Two hosted team building options. Twister Bowling is $40 per person for two hours: a spinner sets a silly challenge at each frame — bowl between your legs, in oven mitts, one-handed holding a six-pound ball like a baby — which is what stops the one league bowler in the department winning it alone. It includes a game of laser tag and a pizza buffet with unlimited soft drinks. Escape Zone is $20 per person for a one-hour escape room, up to 10 players per room, in either Room 113(a motel room, get out before the killer comes back) or Hidden Below(a mine, get out before the air runs out). Both need 10 guests minimum and 3 days' notice, and both run any day we are open.
The rooms
Five rooms, A to E, each 20 ft by 20 ft and seating 30. They are our party rooms, but they are decorated neutrally and read as professional, not as a birthday room with the balloons left in — which is why companies use them. Each has a 55-inch TV on the wall that takes your own presentation: hook a laptop up and go. A 75-inch JAV smart board on wheels moves to whichever room needs it: a 4K touchscreen you write on directly, with a built-in camera for the people who could not travel and wireless casting, so a laptop or a phone puts a screen up without anyone hunting for a cable. Guest wifi is free, and if a video call needs more than that we carry a hotspot down and set it up in your room, which we do regularly.
Most meetings here are weekday mornings — Wednesday, Thursday or Friday — and we will open the building early for one. Midweek daytime is the quietest the building gets, which is exactly why it suits a working session.
About booking a room on its own: most meetings book a package that includes food, because that is where the value is. If you would rather not eat here, we will work out a room charge — call the events team and they will price both.
Suite 28 is the bigger option. Up to 200 guests, eight private bowling lanes, a private bar, a private entrance, an LED wall and audio-visual systems — a room you can present in and then eat in. The Half Suite takes 20 to 40 guests and the Full Suite 40 to 200, with a retractable wall between them. From Thanksgiving to Martin Luther King Jr. Day the minimums rise to 30 and 50.
A dedicated event coordinator runs it. Setup, the timing of the food and the moment the group moves from the room to the activity are ours. Nobody on your team is hosting on the day.
Food for a working day
Breakfast for a morning session. The continental breakfast is $40 per person — danishes, bagels, a fruit platter with strawberry dip, coffee and orange juice. The deluxe breakfast is $51 and adds eggs, sausage, bacon, pancakes and home fries. Both are Suite 28 packages, so each also carries two hours of bowling, a game of laser tag and a $10 arcade card.
Lunch and dinner. Eight buffets run $40 to $80 per person, from the pizza buffet at $41 to the premium buffet at $80 — prime rib, herb-stuffed chicken with honey balsamic Dijon and grilled citrus chicken. Every buffet includes soft drinks, and every one but the two breakfasts includes salad. The full list, and what is on each one, is on the Suite 28 page.
The bar is separate. Alcohol is extra: an open bar, drink tickets at $8 and $10.50, or a two-hour package from $25 per person. The 12% service charge applies to any reservation that includes a food package.

Meetings are usually Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning, and we are flexible about the hour. The building is open Wednesday to Sunday, and groups of 75 or more can ask for a Monday or Tuesday. Team building runs any day we are open, with a 10-guest minimum and 3 days' notice.
Three days is the minimum on a group package, but December dates go first and that month sells out. For a kickoff or a quarterly meeting on a fixed date, book as soon as the date is fixed.
